I like it. August 12, 2008 This is an excellent tool for pitting cherries. Like most other tools in the kitchen it is just an aid and how it works depends on the technique used. It is sturdy, simple and will last a long time. The trick is to place the cherry stem end up (remove stem) and slowly squeeze the tool into the cherry. You will feel when you are near the pit and then push through. If you miss the pit it is a simple task to separate the cherry in half with your fingers and most times the pit will hang down, dislodged from the pulpy portion. I used to pit cherries for pie with a knife and this tool cut my time by over seventy-five percent.
Great for cherries August 9, 2008 This is the first pitter I have ever used and it has worked fine. You do have to pay attention as it will loosen but not eject the occasional pit. Overall though it does a good job for a low price. It sure beats doing them by hand!
The pitts. February 2, 2008 I've used various plastic pitters before with great success. This one did nothing but punch holes in 3 dozen cherries. I think it actually pitted about 3 of the cherries. Don't waste your money. Maybe it does olives better.

This is the best olive/cherry hand pitter I've ever used. Far better than any of the more expenive brands.
