1 out of 5 stars Waste of money! Fruit rotted FASTER!   October 12, 2008

If you put a bunch of bananas in one of these bags you will need to remove them each day and wipe the inside of the green bag dry. If you don't do this they will go bad fast....really really fast. After calling the company and getting this advice...I will never never purchase these again. What a waste!

1 out of 5 stars DISAPOINTED   October 10, 2008
I have used these green bags many times before, this particular shipment of them is defective, my banannas rotted in the bag within 3 days, they sweatted inside the bag, this has never happened before with any produce I have put in them. I have always been pleased with them and have recommended them to many of my co-workers and friends, this shipment of them however was not what was expected so I believe they were sub standard.

4 out of 5 stars Good, if you follow the instructions   October 7, 2008

These work well if you really do what it says. At first I just plopped my strawberries in the bag and tucked the top like it said, but failed to pay attention to the part about being sure the produce is DRY first. It's a little extra work to have to paper towel the things before, but it's worth it if you can extend the time on your produce. "Miracle"-working things always have some kind of catch, there are a bunch of little details to make that miracle work. If you don't do it in this case, it really does accelerate the rotting like some reviewers have complained. That is due entirely to the moisture. Good luck y'all!

I gave 2 stars rather than 1, b/c they did work a LITTLE.

The trick to keeping your stuff super fresh...is you have to take them out of the bag and wipe out the bag every day. That's a lot of maintenance. Bagged items in the fridge keep longer than bagged items on the counter. I leave my bananas and tomatoes on the counter...they lasted at most two days longer than normal.

Moisture starts to collect on the inside of the bag almost immediately. The box does say to wipe out any moisture...but it doesn't tell you that the moisture is ever-present. More moisture for counter top items than frdige items (the cooler in your fridge works like an A/C and de-humidifies the air inside the fridge).

I also got a hold of something called the greens keeper. It's fabric and works great for my leafy greens. I have been using that with good success (fresh leaves after a week), and just stick to buying less items at a time when it comes to things like bananas, tomatoes, and other food that quickly expire.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty cool bags   September 25, 2008

I have used these with a few different vegetables so far, and I think that they really do extend the life of them. There are plenty of bags in the box to last you a while if you re-use them. So, I would recommend these to anyone with refrigerators full of veggies that don't get used immediately.
