Customer Reviews:
Aerodynamic but ineffective May 14, 2008 This stopper seems (at first) to be a great design, attractive and compact. You put the stopper in the bottle, then press down the handle, which expands the rubber on the stopper to (in theory) create a snug fit. However, on many of the wine bottles we put this in, it would seem to seal, but then the handle would ever so slowly start raising itself up until, sproing, the spring would kick in and the stopper would fly out of the bottle and through the air. Is possible we just had a bad one, but you may want to apply caution (and/or eye protection!) when you first use one of these. We took to rubber-banding the handle into the down position, but eventually it got so ridiculous, we gave up and ordered the Velvet Wine/Champagne Sealer by Metrokane, totally different design, only a bit more expensive, and works well on all bottles.
