4 out of 5 stars vacu vin stainless-steel pineapple easy slicer   June 26, 2008
I am sorry I didn't know about this pineapple easy slicer before. I would
love to have known that there would have been perfect pineapple rounds
with hole in the center, however, if the pineapple is not perfectly centered, that is that it does not tilt, you need to straighten it from
the bottom so that it will sit straight up allowing the corer to cut
straight down creating perfect circles. We love it. Buy it.

5 out of 5 stars This thing is AWESOME.   June 24, 2008

We LOVE fresh pineapple, but I always dread actually having to clean one. I'd heard good things about this slicer, so I decided to give it a try. Ohmygosh, y'all- this thing is awesome. I'm a tiny bit drunk right now because the cute pineapple shell I was left with inspired me to make daiquiris. Anyway, it easily cut a perfect spiral, leaving the seeds in the pineapple "shell." After I pulled out the majority of the pineapple interior, I was able to stick the thing back in and get another rotation out of it. It did leave sort of thick walls on the pineapple shell, which I guess you might consider wasteful, but it made the shell sturdier to hold my drink and for the time it took, I'll sacrifice a bit of of the meat. Besides, I was able to get one rotation out of the "lid" of the pineapple, which I'd always just thrown out before, so I figure that makes up for it. Hardest part was getting the core out- it sticks up like a post in the center of the hollow shell when you're done.

After I was done, I rinsed the slicer off, used a toothpick to flick out a couple of little bits of pineapple fiber that had gotten caught, and tossed it in the dishwasher. I feel like I'm on vacation.

3 out of 5 stars How well does it slice   June 23, 2008
I'd just like to add that while it makes simple work of slicing, it doesn't produce those nice clean smooth slices you get in canned pinapples. Maybe it's the blade or something on mine but the surface and sides of each slice is rough and not smooth like you get when you slice it with a knife. I've gone back to using a knife.

5 out of 5 stars Best kitchen gadget!   June 19, 2008
My family loves pineapple, but cutting it was always a chore...until I purchased this pineapple slicer. Now cutting a pineapple isn't only easy, it's fun! The best, easiest, most used kitchen gadget I've ever purchased! I was skeptical how well the plastic one would hold up, so I bought the stainless steel version, and I don't see it breaking any time soon.

2 out of 5 stars Not too thrilled   June 13, 2008
You need a strong grip to get this slicer to work well. It takes a lot of push to work it all the way through the whole pineapple.
