 Watch out for the handle October 15, 2008
I have a regular old melamine corer of this same brand. It is generally fabulous and works wonderfully. That is, until a month ago. We've had ours for 9 mos, and the black plastic handle has begun cracking. I was hoping to re-buy a new stainless one, thinking that would solve the problem. However, torque is the issue and the corer part that goes thru the pineapple is still fine. I would not waste the $$ on the stainless model b/c it looks like the top handle, which receives all the torque, is STILL PLASTIC and I anticipate the same breakage issue. My advice is to think of this item as a throw away and that you will have to replace it eventually. Don't buy the stainless.
 Great for Smaller Pineapples September 30, 2008
This product works fast and easy to use. Best suited for medium size and the stainless steel will last a long time. I selected this one over the plastic one because the stainless teeth will stay sharp. You'll love it.

We found this slicer to be very nice. The only drawback it left a lot of pineapple waste, did not get as much as I would like. The slicer makes one large coil, which then needed to be cut. Otherwise, it is a handy gadget to have.

This little tool amazes me everytime I use it. Takes the core out and make great pinapple rings everytime. It slices in real easy no pressure needed. If you have trouble getting it out once it bottoms out just keep turning in the same direction and pull up at the same time it'll slide right out.... Dishwasher safe - Great kitcehn tool.
