Love it, but be careful May 12, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This thing is great! It works perfectly as long as you center the unit over the bottle before the screw touches the cork, which is pretty easy to do. If not, the screw might go in at an angle and only pull out part of the cork. Just remember to hold the bottle as the unit starts or the bottle will start spinning.
The foil cutter works perfectly and is very handy since it's stored in the opener's base.
Wine Lover May 12, 2007 This is one of the most amazing inventions I have ever seen. It opens wine bottles with absolutely no effort. I plan on buying more as gifts.
Ever lose a $20 bottle of wine by opening it? May 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This opener is consistant and fast and eliminates the chances of a chipped opening. It is very simple to operate and would be a great benefit to someone with arthritis or anyone with unsteady hands.
Great gift May 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We received this as a gift from my neighbor and it's one of the best. We love it. The foil cutter provides a clean cut and the opener works every time, no shredded corks.
Cork splitter, messy opener May 5, 2007 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
I had high expectations for this product after using Rabbits for years, which open bottles flawlessly. Purchased at Costco locally for several dollars less than Amazon. This product inevitably either splits corks or drills the corks so deep that it spits cork out the other end into the wine. If you don't position the worm directly in the center of the bottle, which is hard to do (since it is retracted inside the opener), it will surely split the cork and then you've spoiled the bottle. I've since stopped using it because of these reasons.
