4 out of 5 stars These glasses are really classy!   August 18, 2008
I ordered the 12 oz. ones and I really like them. They are for adults, don't give them to your small children, but the glasses are really classy for entertaining, and even good for everyday use. My husband and myself like them, and I will be ordering these as well. The other glasses came in good condition, and we live overseas!!

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy these   August 17, 2008
They look gorgeous. They are poorly designed, however. They are top-heavy and tip at one false move. The glass is a bit thicker than a christmas tree ornament. Gone in two weeks.

1 out of 5 stars BROKEN!!!   August 15, 2008
I ordered these glasses for my mom and they arrived BROKEN in the bottom of a large box- with no padding protecting them!! Like flushing $40.00 down the toilet.

5 out of 5 stars No more coasters   August 11, 2008
I purchased these glasses as a gift for my mother. She loves to have a tall glass of iced tea during the day, but the glass is always a drippy mess and the tea is watered down as the ice melts quickly. These glasses are ideal for her. They are VERY lightweight, mouth blown borosilicate glass and are made to insulate the beverage inside. Basically, they are a glass inside a glass with air in between to insulate. The beverage stays colder/warmer longer with NO condensation. These glasses are amazingly strong and dishwasher safe.

1 out of 5 stars Fabulous Idea Poorly Engineered   July 29, 2008
When I received my pair of 21 oz. tumblers, I was one happy iced tea drinker! For a few days. I set an empty one down on the counter and, for some reason, it fell over. Having broken many an Erlenmyer flask in my day, the familiar sound of thin borosilicate glass cracking/breaking rushed back through my mind. Kimax, Pyrex, generic borosilicate: I've broken it all!

When I saw these glasses, I was immediately seduced. No sweating glass (I live in Florida). Beverage stays cooler longer. Gorgeous design. What a wonderful concept. Even the $15 a pop for a glass didn't phase me. Too bad it just doesn't work in glass.

Alas, I now know these are not practical glassware items. They are far too fragile.

The same concept has been successfully applied in durable plastic by Tervis Tumbler, dating from 1946. Their product comes with a lifetime warranty. I can't seem to find warranty information for the Bodum products.

So, look and admire the Bodum tumblers and then move on without purchasing them. Instead, spring for some Tervis tumblers. They cost about the same.

For those who gave 5-star rave reviews for this product, I am in awe and admiration of your success with it. For the life of me, I can't fathom how you did it.
