Pineapple Slicer is a Whiz! December 1, 2008 Vacu Vin's Pineapple Slicer is very easy to use and leaves a nice hull for a fancy drink or serving piece. The slicer and a pineapple make a nice hostess gift, and can be made to look festive enough for holiday or special occasion "gifting" for very few dollars. Thumbs up! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Did as advertised, but broke after 4 pineapples October 30, 2008 The product performed as advertised for the first 4 pineapples but the turning handle broke on the 5th pineapple.
Nice to use a couple of times for fun, but not worth the $10.
I love this little item! October 17, 2008 It's easy to use, and I love that you can use the 'shell' of the pineapple for either a centerpiece or 'fruit bowl' to put your pineapple and other fruit in. I would recommend highly!!
PRETTY NEAT! October 11, 2008 I like it a lot. Every Vacu Vin product I've bought have been excellent, including this pineapple gadget.
No more rotten pineapples! September 7, 2008 I am a sucker for buying pineapples at the grocery store, but when I get home, I often leave them on the counter until they are rotten because I don't ever get around to slicing them due to the work they make. The kids won't eat the little spikes that I usually leave on the pineapple pieces. SO, based on a recommendation, I purchased the VacuVin Pineapple slicer. It works so well. It feels deceptively cheap, but the hard plastic cuts through the pineapple like a champ! The directions are visual on the box. It cuts a spiral cut ring - like a big curly fry - and pulls out like a wine cork once the slicing is complete. The core of the pineapple is in the center of the contraption, and it pushes out easily with a stick. There wasn't a single spiky thing left on the pineapple. It made good use of most of the pineapple meat, and it was quick to clean. This is a fabulous addition to my kitchen gadget collection - one I will use frequently.
