Where is it ... October 12, 2005 As the item was a present from a wedding registry, I would love to know whether it found its way to the newly weds ... Is there any possibility of sending an e-mail saying "the item/present you purchased has been delivered today" ?!
Thanks ! ***
Gunk in your wine? August 15, 2005 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
This is the solution. Since I am not very responsible about turning the bottles in my wine collection, there is often some sediment with which to deal. I don't really want to serve my guests "chewy" wine, and this funnel/strainer solves that problem with great style. You'll love how it pours down the side of the decanter. The strainer and funnel are two separate pieces, making cleaning up a snap.
It makes a big difference October 6, 2003 24 out of 27 found this review helpful
Up until now, I thought this type of thing was for the wine snobs, of which I am not. Even for those cheap $7 bottles of wine, this really does make a big difference in the taste of the wine. I highly recommend it.
Very nice tool for RED wine drinkers May 9, 2002 76 out of 78 found this review helpful
Facts: The diameter of the aerating tube inserting a decanter is about 18mm or 3/4 inches. The diameter of the top funnel is 90mm or 3.5 inches. This won't insert to a neck of regular wine bottle -- you need a decanter. The straining mesh is just sitting inside the funnel and is removable. The two pieces making this product are easy to hand wash. This product does aeration and filtration at the same time. Aeration is often used with young to medium aged red wine to smooth out the tannic flavor and possibly improve the integrity of the wine. Filtration is often used to remove solid material (twig, etc) often contained in bottles from more serious price range, and sediment formed from well aged wines. Some reds might even benefit from double decanting with aeration at each decanting. With this funnel, it is very easy and clean to do. White wines very rarely benefit from these steps, but this funnel at least looks great especially with a nice decanter. This funnel can also be useful with other purposes, like removing spice and other solid material from drinks, sauces and broths.
