Great opener July 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this January 2006, and it's still going strong. We got one in 2003, and it broke for some reason, I can't remember, so I replaced it with this one. It's so easy, it opens and removes the cork in 2 motions that take 3 seconds. Like the one star review, I too have an engineering degree. I'm not sure how that pertains to reviewing a bottle opener, but to each his own!
easiest corkscrew ever July 19, 2008 I've struggled with several other lever type corkscrews, and forget the bartender's friend (no friend of mine)! This corkscrew works well and is easy to use. I've had mine for a year and still haven't needed to use the spare screw. I'm buying another one for our wine club so I can no longer fight the myriad of corkscrews we have that I just can't make work (it's me, but why not get the product that works well for those of us who are mechanically challenged....)
The Wine Needs to be Opened easily !! July 17, 2008 Scince I couldn't find the other companies, same Kind of Priced Corkscrew. For the Pice...any Price these are Great. Easy to Use, of course after the First Time!!! The cap-Knife (circular, and in a Horse shoe shaped Inclosed handle , works Just as Good as the Others, its a learned Nack. The Opener-made where else, Will Hold up Nicely for a Long Tine, and Work Great. Don't put in Dish washer, and the Less you drop it !! It Stand took some time to appreciate, but like I Implied, They Don't make the Other Variation-basically the same 20 something $ mechanical opener- and will Keep the Opener from Falling. THIS IS STURDY, and Does the JOB very NIcely !! woth it !!
Worked for one bottle of wine July 16, 2008 I purchased this opener after my previous one (same style, more expensive manufacturer) broke after two years of faithful service. After using this opener one time, it was rendered useless. The threading for the hinge was stripped. This is the same problem that killed my other opener, but it took two years to get to that point.
It's worth the money to spend a few extra dollars to get a reputable corkscrew.
Disappointing June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this product on May 3, 2008 after having my last cork pull for 8 years. I was expecting this product to last at least a year or two but; to my disappointment it only lasted about 8 weeks. The pull never tracked correctly and finally broke. I have learned that not all cork pulls are alike. Hopefully, I will have better luck with the next one.
