Every once in awhile, you get a cork that just doesn't want to come loose. I've always preferred the Waiter Style corkscrew, but a conventional one doesn't always get the torque that it takes to get a sticky cork loose (at least without getting your blood pressure up in the process). The two step system on the Pulltap double hinged corkscrew gets that extra bit of torque to get the cork out of the bottle, and then gives you that extra bit of travel it takes to get the cork out of the bottle without bending or cracking it.
The apparently teflon coated screw goes in easy too.

I'm a former waitress and wine lover, but certainly not a snob, and as such I've used almost every type of opener under the sun. This is the sweetest little corkscrew opener I've ever used. The hinged design is exactly what's called for and the action is smooth and easy every time. Why would I reach for anything else? This is so uncomplicated, quick and easy (and small which is a consideration in my kitchen).

My husband and I are wine lovers and have accumulated several types of corkscrews over the years but were never quite satisfied with any of them.
This corkscrew is really easy and effective - it holds up to any corkscrew that we have had for a fraction of the price and no complications

This corkscrew is easy to use and will avoid breaking the cork thanks to it's two stages. You can find the same model here at Amazon far cheaper via Target.
