The handle on the decanter looked like it was glued on. Other than that it looks good.

Never put a decanter in the dishwasher. Don't even use soap to clean it. Rinse your decanter with hot water soon after use, and hang to dry on any number of available drying racks. Soap residue is difficult to remove due to the shape of most decanters, and can potentially ruin your next bottle of wine. Extremely hot water will do the trick.

According to the product description, this item is dishwasher safe. I found it exceedingly difficult to even get the decanter into our dishwasher in a position where water would spray into the opening. Then, after the first washing, there was a chip on the spout. Overall, this decanter is not as durable as I would have expected. The thin glass on the spout is a chip just waiting to happen. I didn't keep this item. I returned it to Amazon.
