Essential for Grilling and Smoking August 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the one item that I use every time I use my grill or smoker. They are easy on and off and provide good overall heat protection for your hands and forearms. Now that being said, you can burn your fingers through them, but I never expected that this couldn't happen. If you plan on picking up burning hot coals or embers.....expect to burn your hands.
When the pair that I have now wears out...I wouldn't hesitate in buying a replacement pair....as a matter of fact, I wouldn't buy anything but.
These are NOT fire-proof August 1, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Don't get me wrong. I love these things. The only problem is that they're not entirely heat-proof. They're meant to be used when handling hot stuff, not to be confused with handling fire. I have several scorch marks on my gloves because I wasn't careful with them. Use them as the manufacturer advises; as an aid to handling utensils and food on a hot grill. If you want something fireproof, buy something made of asbestos, but be prepared to pay a lot more money for them.
Excellent! July 10, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My Partner bought these for me. I actually use them for indoor cooking because most cooking mitts don't go far enough up the arm. The gloves are helpful when you have to reach further back into your oven. I also love the freedom of individual finger movement. The only 2 downfalls are (A) They had a VERY strong chemical smell when I first opened the package (Thankfully it disappeared over time), (B) They don't have a ring to allow you to hang them on a wall hook.

This product said it could pick up coals and I tried to do that and burned my hands through the gloves. Not worth the money I paid!

Saving the hair on my knuckles is greatly appreciated. I am a serious bbq-er and have been looking for gloves that provide better protection from hot lump. These work perfectly and I strongly recommend them.
