5 out of 5 stars A big hit   November 26, 2008
I got this for my BIL. He grills and cooks alot. He loves it and use it all the time. I did tell him about the problem with over pumping and then refrigerating and imploding, so he hasn't had trouble with it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Marinater - Use It Every Week   November 12, 2008
We love the Vacu Vin Vacuum Instant Marinater. We use is all the time. It seals the food and marinade so well inside the marinater it is great for taking tail gating. We use to marinade steaks, chicken, and even vegetables for kabobs. Great product. If you BBQ, you have to try it.

5 out of 5 stars At last a long lost friend found!   September 18, 2008
Several years ago we were given a similar divise and learned to love it! This is the only type of marinating devise that allows you to forget and still "get her done"! Due to my misuse (too much vacuum) I broke my original. Until I found Vacu Vin at Amazon.com, I was without this devise. I've learned my lesson (as those who posted negetive reviews apparently haven't) and am very careful how much vacuum I pump and this devise has already improved several meals by allowing me to marinate something I forgot to do in a timely manner. As a matter of fact, I can now thaw, marinate, and cook a delicious meal from arrival at home to dinner on the table, at a reasonable time, using my Vacu Vin.

1 out of 5 stars Husband just got out a mallet...   September 12, 2008

This is our first time using the Vacu Vin (we are using the 'improved' model), and the poor guy has been trying to get the dang thing open for 15 minutes, just so we can cook dinner. At this point, we could give a rip about the rubber seal.

I have resorted to surfing for troubleshooting help because there are no warnings nor instructions in the product manual re: pressurization or release... and no apparent means to get the lid to release.

Oh, wait- I just heard a huge pop. It appears that a needlenose pliers did the trick. The lid is in two pieces, but our chicken dinner appears intact.

3 out of 5 stars Caution   August 18, 2008

This worked great for the first use. By the second use, the lid cracked. So it useless now, need to find a replacement lid. The vacumn doesn't work anymore. for $40 bucks, you'd think youd be able to use it more than once.
