LOVE THIS BLENDER November 26, 2008 I have owned this blender about 6 months now. I make smoothies, and diet shakes with ice. It works wonderfully. No chunks of ice, fruit. Blends very smooth. It has only 2 speeds, but you won't need any more than that. I alternate the speeds when crushing the ice in the shakes/smoothies. It is VERY powerful, so it is loud, but it isn't on that long, so don't worry about the noise, because it works very fast. I can make up to 3 shakes at a time, that is 3 cups of water and then some powder. I highly recommend this blender. You can't beat the price.
Oster BPSTO2 Professional Series Blender November 23, 2008 Despite the numerous reviews complaining about noise, I found this blender to be no worse than the old one (Kitchen Aid) I had. It works well. I was surprised at the rather light weight housing of the base, much lighter than my previous blender. As I have only had it for a month, it is premature to speculate about durability. The soft plastic lid has good and bad features: the good is that it requires no gasket, which usually wear out. The bad is that when pureeing hot soups, the lid "softens an deforms" enough so that the removable dome is in danger of coming out. So the procedure of holding a dish towel over the lid when blending hot foods is necessary. A criticism of the housing is its textured surface, which seems unnecessary and is a bit harder to clean than other surfaces.
Almost Perfect November 22, 2008 I purchased this blender for my son. It's powerful enough for just about any kitchen use for sure. He loves it. However, the clear plastic top piece (middle) is not very secure. The first time the blender was used, it fell through its hole, and the blades chopped it to pieces. Needless to say, the soup had to be tossed!
Oster Blender November 20, 2008 The blender is great, it's the second one we've purchased. Who really uses "16" speeds? On and off, that's all it takes!!
BEST BLENDER! October 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the perfect example of how I've come to rely on Amazon customer reviews. I did a lot of research trying to find the "perfect" blender and this is one that always came up with universally glowing reviews, so I went with it. And I have to say this is truly the best blender I've ever owned. Maybe not "perfect", but pretty darn awesome.
