No problem with synthetic corks April 7, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this with every intention of returning it if it did not perform. Happily, it exceeded my expectations. Easy to use, fast, and attractive design. I hate to admit I'm buying more wine just because I like opening the bottles! Unlike a few reviewers, I have had NO trouble opening synthetic corks. In fairness, the instructions do mention that some synthetic corks might not come out easily. However, it has not been the case in my experience. In fact, most of the corks I've removed have been synthetic and they came out easily.
As Advertised! April 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this item after reading a glowing review in Wine Spectator magazine. I love it. It is low cost, works great, and is very easy to operate, particularly for folks who are challenged by a regular corkscrew. Just hold it vertically on the top of the bottle, hold the bottle steady, push the button and 5-10 seconds later the cork is out of the bottle. Push the other button and 5 seconds later the cork is off the opener. Put it back in the charging stand.
cork screw stinks April 4, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This does not work. The screw goes through the cork and into the bottle and does not pull the cork out of the bottle. I have had several people try it and they have had the same result. Stick to a good manual rabbit cork screw opener.
Disappointed April 2, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
After reading all the reviews, I was eager to own one of these. It didn't work at all with synthetic corks. And even failed with some real corks! 8 bottels of wine. It has failed on 6 synthetic and 1 real cork. I guess you just can't beat the "Waiter's " cork screw.
Why buy any other Wine Opener? April 2, 2007 I have purchased several wine openers over the years. All of them had issues, except this one. Easy and fast, this wine opener is everything you want in wine opener without the hassle. Just ensure that you have a full charge before using it!
