5 out of 5 stars Quite an Adventure   November 30, 2008
Stephenie Meyer made a great recovery by writing this novel.
In my opinion she saved twilight series just before they crashed and burned. New Moon was absolutely terrible. It was boring and extremely depressing, while Eclipse was much much better. It carried that fire and passion Twilight had, and made you keep wanting more. For those of you who are down about New Moon, please don't give up on the series because of it, Meyer makes up for it in this amazing novel.

5 out of 5 stars Worth the read   November 29, 2008
I would rate this one second best in the Twilight Series. I greatly enjoyed this one.

1 out of 5 stars Tweens and Teens deserve better!   November 28, 2008

I cannot believe the hype surrounding this series of books. I had high hopes, which were dashed primarily by the fact that SM used the same 10 adjectives repeatedly to describe each of her central characters. I love this genre and am so disappointed. The fourth book was the worst of the bunch. Anyone with recommendations for a suitable replacement for Harry Potter, please let me know!

5 out of 5 stars Good Writing, Adventurous, Romantic and Amazingly Clean   November 27, 2008
When I say clean, I mean there is no foul language, no alcohol or drug abuse, no societal message as opinion by the author. Just good, clean fun. The paranormal issues are kept fairly downplayed (that's not the word I want). I think what I'm trying to say is these stories are for women (and men if they can put aside their fear of chick books) of all walks of life and all ages. I started reading this book on vacation. I am 55 years old, so I felt a little stupid reading teenage fiction. However, I was hooked solidly from Twilight until the very end of Breaking Dawn and recommend these books for women of ALL ages who enjoy a fun, fast-paced romance with a few vampires and werewolves thrown in. Eclipse was my third favorite book because I was so taken by Edward, I had a hard time reading through the Jacob parts. Ms. Meyers made it clear to me that Edward was Bella's all-time love, so it felt a little boring when the Jacob stories were being told. However, that being said, these stories were STILL better than 99% of the books out there, for teenagers to us old ladies. I loved the wedding and the aftermath. I am one of those who would prefer NOT to read every detail of people's love lives and appreciate the way Ms. Meyers made the wedding night of Edward and Bella breathtakingly sensual without getting too descriptive. I always think that's sexier - just my opinion.

The reason these books are so popular is fairly simple. Give the public what they want and we will come. I hope the other authors are paying attention. That she managed to write four long books without a lapse in writing style or going off subject, keeping it interesting and even addictive shows a great talent. I hope the rest of her books are as good.

2 out of 5 stars The Story Can End.   November 27, 2008
It seems that the novels get longer and longer to tell a simple story. Most of the action is always in the last few chapters and I feel that the verbosity of the books becomes a bit tiring. Eclipse is the struggle of Bella, Jacob and Edward to save Bella and the ones they love. It is clear where Bella's favors lie and yet I still wish that Jacob could be Bella's one true love. You learn more of werewolves and vampires and what young loves means.
