Finally - helpful food news in a helpful format October 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
ChefMD is a great book to add to a personal library for those truly interested in the interactions of food and body. This book helps relate food and health logically. It has an easy to understand format and is a wonderful reference source for professionals and anyone concerned with food as a health source.
Big Book of Culinary Medicine Review October 17, 2008 Very informative book, but I wish there were more recipes and more medical conditions with correlating recipes. It is called a "Big Book" after all. I really like how it uses food to cure ailments, as a society are so stuck on popping pills when things go wrong and really, what we put in our bodies everyday makes a huge difference.
Big Life Saver October 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great book. Thank you Dr La Puma! Since I bought the book back in the early part of Sept, I quit drinking hard liquor, eating junk food and I have started a exercise program and I have lost 9 lbs since Sep 21. Today is Oct 15. I have learned to love fruits and vegetables. I love the whole living well concept and I'm so delighted that it's NOT a diet. I look forward to living this lifestyle the rest of my life. This book is very easy to read, it's entertaining and extremely educational. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to save their life. Don Scottsdale, AZ
Not a Recipe Book October 15, 2008 I misunderstood what this book was when I purchased it. I thought it was a recipe book with lots of healthy recipes for different concerns. This book is more about a way of eating. If that's what you're interested in, then I think it's a good book.
funny and informative September 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has completely changed how I choose food--and I thought I already knew a lot about healthy eating. Now I know how to maximize nutrition even in the foods I already eat (like melon and broccoli) by how I cook and store them. I have seen a real difference in my nails and hair, and my eye doctor recently told me, after examining my eyes, "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it."
I love watching La Puma on his ChefMD.com website--he's funny and gives great advice. And his book is funny and well written. Highly recommended.
