4 out of 5 stars Sensational art, delightful memoir   July 12, 2005
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

You'd expect a memoir with paintings by a television star to be something of a vanity publication, but this is not - it's the work of a truly gifted artist whose oil pastels are world class. And the text (what I read of it in the waiting room of the doctor's office where I discovered it!) is a delightful, literate and fascinating compilation of memoir and history of the Paso Robles area. I spent an hour with this book and rushed home to buy it. My elderly mom, with me in the waiting room, is a nationally recognized painter, and she, too was very impressed with the art - and she has a tough eye, having juried shows, etc. What a delightful find!
