easy, but hard if you like cold cereal for breakfast July 24, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
The diet itself is so easy - just eliminate flour and sugar. The only problem I had (am having) is finding breakfast cereals without either. So far the only one I found is shredded wheat. Yuk. Other than that, the reproduction of letters to Dr. Gott is a great idea. Almost all of the questions I would have had were already answered. The only other complaint (aside from cereal) is that the recipes are a little too "gormet" for my taste.

This book is full of informaton if the reader wants to learn a way of eating that will help them loose weight. However as with any diet program, it takes implimentation of said diet to work.

First of all it was very easy to order and receive the book, "Dr. Gott's No Flour, No Sugar Diet" through Amazon.com.
I have found the book helpful in that it explained how flour and sugar sabotage our diets. I also like the book and the diet because I am not really deprived of too many things. I can have sweets as long as they are not made with white sugar and syrups and such. I can use the artificial sweeteners. I can still enjoy fruits and vegetables without too many limitations as well. I am a bread lover and I can still have my bread but not made with the 'flours.' There is no reason for me to feel hungry. I think the book is great and I have learned so much from Dr. Gott in the past few weeks!
Dr. Gott's No Flour, No Sugar Diet Review July 7, 2007 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I gave this book 5 stars because of the practical content it contains. He explains things in terms everyone can understand. If you're serious about getting control of your health, here is the book for you. Dr. Gott explains that this is a lifestyle change in your eating paterns, not really a diet. The benefit is weight loss at a slow rate that tends to stay off. My husband has been on this for just under 2 months and has lost 15 pounds. His energy level has been improved dramatically. He still has another 30-40 pounds to lose, but is committed to do it. One of the best things he has said to me is, "I really don't feel like I'm dieting at all". I am not as strict as he is, but I could stand to lose about 15 pounds myself. So for us, this is the way we will be eating forever. By the way, we're both over 50 years old and losing weight. Imagine that?

Not sure how realistic this is. Was not impressed with this book. Would not follow this diet for the long run.
