4 out of 5 stars The Pleasures of Wine   April 6, 2007

I've been a fan of Natalie MacLean's writing for years and this book does not disappoint. Natalie makes the experience of learning about wine fun and with this book shows that every glass can offer a unique and memorable experience.

4 out of 5 stars Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine, There's always laughter and good red wine. At least I've always found it so. Benedicamus D   April 4, 2007

A rollicking good time, and the wine book that needed to be written, but she should have spent more time with Josh Raynolds and Stephan Tanzer as Robert Parket and Janice Robinson already have lakes of ink spilt on them. This is a great book for wine geeks, sideline spectators, and those just curious about how the wine industry works. MacLean verges on M. F. K. Fisher's "How to Cook a Wolf" territory with some of her long passages on dining with family and friends, but it is all forgivable. Lots and lots of fun.

I am half way through Natalie's book and must say that it is
both enlightening and entertaining. Not only am I learning,
I am smiling too! What could be better? Great Book!
Her newsletter is also a wonderful littany of humor and knowledge.

5 out of 5 stars A Great book for all levels of wine lovers.   February 25, 2007

This book has a lot of great information for the wine lover and it is not that
intimidating if you don't know a lot about wine. I read it over a month ago and I've learned so much from it, I quote from it all the time. It was also interesting to find about different types of wines that I have never heard before to try them. This is a great book!

5 out of 5 stars A Wine book that communicates to all   February 5, 2007

I've just finished reading RED, WHITE, AND DRUNK ALL OVER.
It was outstanding. It was so reader friendly. Your
writing becomes almost poetic at times, and it never loses
connection with the everyday person out there, yet it has
lots and lots to teach.

Your reporting of your own frustrations with returning a bottle was so helpful. You know your audience.

You've simply produced an amazing book. It is the most
reader-friendly book on wine I've read. You have nudged
LOVE BY THE GLASS and JUDGEMENT OF PARIS out of their previous
first places with this book.
