Best Pizza Book We've Found July 8, 2006 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is great for both crust and sauce recipes! We actually bought it a few years ago and have misplaced it so we had to order another copy! Great book (especially for the money).
A pizza book with the lot! April 14, 2006 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
What a gem of a book.I started out trying to find pizza recipe books when I found this book. Its not your average pizza recipe book.It teaches you how to make real pizza. You can learn how to make pizza just like they do in pizza bars. This book tells you what type of flour, cheese, tomato base, how to kneed the dough and so much more.A lot of thought and planning went into this book.It just doesnt get any better than this.
If you are looking to buy your own pizza bar and you dont know how to make a pizza this book is just what you need.If you just want to make your own pizza at home this book is all you need.
For the price alone this book is great value and very high quality.
Been looking for a way to make good pizza and I found it February 26, 2006 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been, for the past 2 years, trying to find a way to make pizza at home that tastes as good as delivery. With the help from this book, I now enjoy my pizza better than the famous chains.
No brainer if you like to cook pizza at home - buy it.
Flour & Sauce on the Book January 31, 2006 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is guide not a book, something you take to the trenches with you. This is not for the coffee table but for the kitchen right next to your ingredients. This little handy book is going to get sauce and flour on it because it will be right next to you as you make your dough and pizza. For the Basic Dough, It's a NY Style dough recipe, which is also good for calzones and stromboli's. Dominick also has fried pizza and fried Calzones which is some of my favorite type of pizza food. However if you are looking for Chicago or Neapolitan pizza's this is not the book for you. I liked the style of the book, small, to the point, helpful in cooking utensils, It gives me recipes that I like so it fits my style and taste perfectly. His dough is close to what I make and definitely would recommend is dough recipe to a person just getting started. In fact out of all my pizza books which includes American Pie. This is my favorite Pizza book/guide. The price is right too! Excellent book!
This is the very best book to learn to make excellent pizza at home! January 1, 2006 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have been using this book for a few years now...and so far all my friends cannot stop telling their friends about my pizza! I am an engineer as well and I do enjoy the scientific references in the book. It is entertaining for us engineer-types...
About finding the high gluten flour...King Arthur Flour sells a 3 lb bag of Sir Lancelot High Gluten flour that has 14% protein. I have been buying this for years and it works excellently with Dominick's recipes.
