5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Cook Book   September 25, 2008
I originally bought Rosie's Cookie Book and was very impressed with the cookie recipes in it. All of them were wonderful. So I bought her baking book- this book is equally as fantastic. My copy is tattered and falling apart because I make the cakes in her book all the time. Her carrot cake, butter cake, and sour cream chocolate cake recipes are absolutely phenomenal.

I have recommended both of these books to my foodie and dessert loving friends many times.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Way to Get Fat.   June 4, 2008
This book is a complete joy. Rosie has a nice, folksy quality that makes you want to try your best in the kitchen-and as she says: The nice thing about baking is that your mistakes are edible. A great choice for the beginning baker.

5 out of 5 stars MY FAVORITE COOKBOOK!!   January 17, 2008
This book CHANGED the way I cook and bake! It was a gift, and I devoured it (pun) over the Christmas holiday I got it. I went on to win 2 awards in a local contest ("Best Use of Chocolate" and "Most Unusual Dessert"), and I suddenly had staple recipes to bake from.

The best possible compliment: for the basic cheesecake I brought to a holiday B&B trip. "Who made this cheesecake?" "I did." "Do you bake professionally??" Nice.

I have owned this book for years. It is completely reliable, the recipes are pretty simple, and the results are outstanding. I have had failures with other expert books such as the Pie or the Cake Bibles; Rosie's book has never let me down. This is not aimed at diet-conscious bakers or consumers. But when you want to wow someone with flavor and authenticity, when it's time for a splurge, when you want to bake something that tastes like baked goods used to taste, you can turn to this book with confidence.

5 out of 5 stars Yum! Yum! Yum!   December 26, 2007

If you love decadent desserts and baked goods this is the cookbook for you. Rosie (a.k.a. Judy Rosenburg)knows her sweets and really has a way of teaching you how to prepare these wonderful recipes. She is passionate about what she does and it is reflected in this cookbook. Highly recommended.
