The original - Ina's terrific! July 5, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Before Food Network introduced us to the lovely and maternal Ina, she had a wonderful gourmet food shop in East Hampton which has since closed (sadly!). This book really is a tribute to the clean flavors that built her empire. Simple, stunning, Ina guides you through cooking with aplomb. It's my therapy. I'm glad Ina is in the world!
I loved it...!!! June 6, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I own several GOOD cook books, but this is different in the way it's written... Ina makes every recipe look soo easy to make, that I really believe I can cook like her and have tried the "Apple Tartin" and many others... Happily with the good same results...!!!
Good Cooking May 12, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Using The Barefoot Contessa's Cookbook makes it very easy to make new dinners. Her recipes are easy to understand and easy to follow. I watch her TV program and often use the book to replicate her menu.

I have watched the Barefoot Contessa on the Food Netwrok and have l aways marveled on how apparently easy and good her recipies seem. I have tried several from this cookbook and they too are simple and easy and most importantly, very tasty. I love cookbooks but I use only the books that have simple, easy to follow, not fussy and tasty recipies. The BC uses some supermarket products and easily obtainable fresh food and her recipies give you a consistney reliable product you can serve to family and friends. Good cookbook for beginning cooks as well.
Not the best Barefoot Contessa Book May 12, 2007 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have all of the Barefoot Contessa books. This is a good cookbook, I love her style, good food, simple recipies. My favourites though, are the Barefoot in Paris and Barefoot Contessa Family style. I just didn't find enough usable recipies in this one for my taste.
