Shy Bladder SYNDROME May 18, 2008 This book is a life saver for those that live with this psychological devastating problem. It makes people aware that they are not the only one who lives with it and gives contact information so one can contact others for help. It is a must for people living with Paruresis.
13 Years of a Strange Social Anxiety Cured!!!! May 1, 2008 I met a therapist who is the only doctor I have ever met that not only knew what paruresis is, but was familiar with ways to treat it. Since he is my husband's doctor and we couldn't see each other to help me with my anxiety, he recommended this book. I was eager to cure myself so I started reading and using the relaxation and mantra techniques in my most anxiety driven bathroom visits. It worked.... Just months later I can pretty much urinate anywhere. Just knowing that I was not the only one suffering from this strange ailment was comforting and encouraging. If you suffer from paruresis (bashful bladder), get this book. I found it an excellent way to confront and overcome the little known about social anxiety that I suffered with for almost 13 years of my life.

If your wondering about buying this book I recommend you do. Don't stress you can always hide it and you never know it may just help. As a sufferer it took a lot of courage to buy this book. When I read it I cryed and I now know I am not alone. It has even empowered me to seek professional help and talk about this demon to close family and friends. I know I can beat this and this book has helped me on my pathway to recovery
A good book. Straight to the point. March 13, 2007 Simply put: This book really does help those of us who suffer from this problem. Ill admit, this book didnt cure me, but then I didnt expect that anyway... What it did do, was allow me to fuction properly within the workforce, and enjoy a few drinks at the pub in the arvo.
If uve got this syndrome, give it a read, u cant go wrong.
An important reference book March 8, 2007 This book helped me substantially get over this secret condition. However it is not a substitute for getting to support groups and active work. It is however the defining and original book on this topic, by educated authors who have been affected by the condition themselves. My only criticism is that it is not totally comprehensive in the treatment side of it, if you are trying to recover on your own.
