4 out of 5 stars Phury/Cormia's story OK, rest of the book AWESOME!!!   November 11, 2008

I loved this book!! Phury and Cormia's story was OK, the romance was a bit off. Cormia I liked, I liked her personality and attitude. Phury has always been my least favorite out of all the brothers and this book just made my opinion of his character worse. The whole wizard thing was weird at first but then when you understood his personality more and more throughout the book, the wizard wasn't so bad. I liked the premise of his drug problems and going through everything like a real drug addict would. It just shows you that just because they're vampires doesn't mean they don't have problems like everyone else does. Phury and Cormia's story ended pretty good. The rest of the book rocked!!! I loved Quinn, Blay, and John. They were my absolute favorites. I think that Xhex and John will get together in later books. Quinn and Blay are a ? for me. Will they get together or will they go their separate ways? For those that don't know what I am talking about, Quinn and Blay kissed in this book. You found out that Blay is gay and has loved Quinn for a very long time. Quinn is bi but says that he and Blay can't be together, that it wouldn't work between them, but who knows? I can't wait to find out. Rhevenge was interesting. He had a much bigger part in this book, probably because the next book Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 7) is all about Rhev. The biggest and best part of the book was the Omega and Lash. Lash is the Omega's son. I know, right!!?? I can't wait to see the development of this story line. Tohr is also back in this book, which I was glad about. I also want to find about where Butch comes from. Ward left us hanging in Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 4) at the end. Apparently Butch's mother had an affair with a vampire at some point and that is Butch's real father. I hope this is brought to our attention sometime soon.

The order of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series:

Dark Lover: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood (The Black Dagger Brotherhood)
Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 2)
Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 3)
Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 4)
Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 5)
Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 6)
Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 7)
The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's Guide

5 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL   November 2, 2008

Can J.R. Ward get any better?! I am dying for more. This book kept me so glued I couldn't put it down. (as all her books have kept me) And I am not ashamed to say that I have read through the series twice now. It has all left me wanting more sexy, exciting and wholly masculine worriers. Would recommend this book and series to all.

5 out of 5 stars Worth the Read   October 18, 2008

Excellent book. Absolutely worth the read. Don't hesitate to buy this book right now!!

Although I am a fan of the series, I was hesitant to read this book because Cormia was not a favorite character of mine from the preceeding books. However, I am SO GLAD that I decided to read it anyways. In a departure from her previous books, Lover Enshrined, while woven around the "romance" between Phury and Cormia, actually gives great insight into many of the other characters. John Matthew and his peers feature prominently. I can't tell much about the book without giving it away, but trust me that you will not see most of the plot twists coming!

Excellent character development, leaves me begging for more. Not a boring moment in the book. Superior to most other "paranormal" romances on the market today. You will not be disappointed!!

2 out of 5 stars Phury should be furious!   October 17, 2008

This definitely was my least favorite book out of the series but I'm still a huge BDB fan and can't wait for the next book. In my humble opinion, Phury was gypped. That's all I can say. This was purported to be Phury's story and it became a giant run on story about the Chosen and the Wizard. Blah, Blah, Blah! Too much outside distraction, there was nothing to become emotionally invested in. I think Ward weakened the character. Phury's is supposed to be the Hero of the Brothers and I found him to be very unsympathetic. He was just whiney and annoying.

1 out of 5 stars What happened to my hero?   October 15, 2008

Where was Phury? I can't begin to say how dissapointed I am in this book. I have waited patiently for Phury's story since he fell in love with Bella. I think Ms Ward forgot what a nice guy Phury was. If I was Cormia I would not have put up with him, even if I had been raised by the scribe virgin. He sacrificed his leg for his brother what did he sacrifice for Cormia?

I must say though I love seeing all the old characters returning and it is always good to have new characters so that this superb series can continue. I enjoyed the end of the book but what is Phury going to do with himself. I always imagined Phury to be a gentle, possessive and protective hero. Unfortunately he was too busy getting high and worrying about some wizard?? Where did he come from? I don't normally wright reviews but I am a big fan of the black dagger brotherhood series and will always buy JR Ward's books but I was very dissapointed in this installment as Phury has always been my Favourite character. I doubt I will be re reading this one.
