There are some good ideas in this cookbook. That being said, not only the look of the book but many of the flavors have become dated.
And some of the recipes are just preposterous, such as the idea of having children, over the course of about three days, make a jiggly fruited dessert from scratch. Emphasis on the scratch. An afternoon of scraping hair off a boar's foot could be a good way to break the habit, should you have any children in your life who may be addicted to Jell-o.
