For those with little time to spare... This cook book is for YOU!!! November 10, 2008 I am a full time college student and I also work part time... These recipes are so quick and easy... and they TASTE GREAT too!!! This cook book is my second cook book from the cooking light series...
5 Ingredient 15 Minute Cookbook September 15, 2008 This cookbook has some good recipes, but I didn't see any that are 5 ingredients or less which is what the title promises. Most also take longer than 15 minutes. It really wasn't what I was hoping for.
You will cook more often!! February 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is great! All of the recipes I have made have been simple, quick to make, and very tasty. I am able to make healthy, high quality meals with little effort. Great for folks with busy schedules!
Good recipes that make grocery shopping & cooking easy! February 23, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of my go-to cookbooks when I don't have a lot of time, but still want to cook a semi-homemade meal!
One thing I like about this cookbook is how it's structured. Most cookbooks have the main meals in one section and the sides in another. This cookbook show's the main meal at the top of the page, a recommended side (and their pairings are good) at the bottom of the page, and the Grocery list for both on the left margin. They also include a full-page picture of each recipe. The format is really convenient.
They also have some great recipes. I usually write "Very Good," "Good," "OK," or "No" on recipes for future reference. Here are the recipes I've rated so far in this cookbook:
VERY GOOD: - Creamy Vegetable Soup WITH Chili-Onion Drop Biscuits - Mushroom Pizza WITH fresh veggie tray
GOOD: Orange-Glazed Salmon WITH Steamed Snow Peas Sweet-and-Sour Shrimp WITH Baked Wonton Crisps Glazed Pork Chops WITH Green Beans and French rolls Pan-Glazed Chicken with Basil WITH Broccoli Couscous
OK: Roasted Garlic-Potato Soup WITH Romaine Salad Mediterranean Beef Stew WITh Sun-Dired tomato bread
NO: Fresh Tomato Pizza WITH Crunchy Radish-Cauliflower Salad
Like most cookbooks, not every recipe is a winner, but there are enough good ones in this cookbook to make it worthwhile!
Love this lifesaver cookbook! February 1, 2008 I love this cookbook!! Everything I have made from it tastes really good - my husband agrees! And any company that drops by during the week is always impressed with whatever I'm serving when I use this book. It is ingenious! I'm never intimidated when I look at a recipe, and because of that, I'm cooking a greater variety - fish, ham, lamb, etc. I love that they're not afraid to have you use frozen stuff - that's what I'd be doing when I'm in a hurry anyway, but it would be plain and boring. This book tells me how to make it tasty, attractive, special! And the recipes certainly don't always rely on frozen vegetables. For example, I've finally learned how to cook fresh asparagus, because the book includes a great, simple recipe for doing that. Because I work long hours, I'd be microwaving frozen dinners or ordering takeout most nights if it were not for this cookbook. Now, meals in my home are healthier and a much more satisfying, warm experience, because I'm cooking something for my family, serving a real dinner. I love that there is a picture for every recipe, and the best part is that each main dish recipe gives you a full menu, suggesting what else to serve with the main dish to make a well-coordinated and filling meal. I absolutely could not run my home without this book, and I am hoping, hoping for a volume 2!!
