Good choice August 15, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this book because my daughter is a diabetic & I was looking for new recipes to try in the slow cooker. I've only tried 4 recipes so far & they were all good.
GREAT COOKBOOK! July 23, 2007 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
I haven't yet tried any of the recipes, but I look forward to doing so. There are so many I want to try...family friendly recipes which will be so great for our weekly family nights. I love the convenience of the slow cooker, but as a diabetic with a heart problem, I was looking for a cookbook which would enable me to feed the family but still be safe for me. I've found it! No one will even suspect that they are eating "my kind of food."
Diabetic Cooks or Diabetic Consumer? July 12, 2007 13 out of 18 found this review helpful
This book has varied recipes but to call it a diabetic cookbook is misleading. The majority of recipes would not pass muster for low GI meals within a diabetic's range. Perhaps it is a cookbook for people who are diabetic to cook for those who are not!
Don't feel like cooking? March 31, 2007 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
Great for diabetics and others, this book tells you how to use your slow cooker so you can prepare healthy, delicious meals even when you don't really feel like cooking.
Slow Cooker Revival March 18, 2007 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
As my diabetes has become a serious health issue, I came to the conclusion that what I needed were some simple, easy to fix, recipes that would fit my schedule and my budget. This book answers to all my needs. I was so impressed with the concise and clear instructions that I found I had every size slow cooker except the most popular, the 4 quart. Since I had been admiring a red one in our local all purpose department store, I was able to get it and complete the sizes to make the recipes for the intended size. That is one thing I really liked about this book; it said what size slow cooker to use for optimum prep time. It also explained why certain foods were good, even though high in carbs. Great investment!
