worked for me August 28, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought the guide was well organized and easy to use. The book is divided into categories of engineering specialties. Then all graduate schools are listed in alphabetical order with a brief description of the school (address, degrees offered, students enrolled, faculty ratios, male/female ratios, degrees awarded, average tuition and financial aid, degree and entrance requirements, contact info). The best part was the fact that every school who offers a graduate program in the engineering area was listed in alphabetical order. The schools could also choose to pay for an in-depth description of the engineering school or of a specific program. The descriptions are handy, but since the school has to pay for them only about half of the schools I looked at had one. The only thing the guide was missing was an index by state within a certain program, so if you just want to look at in-state schools you have to skim through all of the listings. Overall, the guide worked for me. I got all the contact information I wanted in one afternoon, but have used the guide multiple times since then. This guide was great for deciding where to start when beginning to look at graduate schools.
