not just for married people April 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this book as a wedding present, but I think its strength is not its effort to get the couple into the kitchen (my kitchen only fits one anyway!) but its fresh, modern yet basic recipes and gorgeous, full page color photos. You just have to try their lamb chops with mint sauce recipe and their carrot cake!
BEST ENGAGEMENT GIFT! April 10, 2008 My husband and I received this gift as an engagement gift many years ago. The recipes are great! Probably not the most healthy version of some of the common dishes but very yummy! Since then, this has been my number one gift of choice for newly engaged couples.
Bride & Groom Cookbook April 5, 2008 This is the perfect shower gift for the bride to be! Has great recepies that the newlyweds will definitely use and will be a keepsake for a long time.
Absolutely Fabulous! February 19, 2008 I absolutely love this cookbook. I have not historically been one to cook all that often. My husband and I negotiate who cooks which night...it's just not my favorite thing to do. The time...finding all the ingredients...mixing it all togehter....blah blah... To me it just seemed like far too much work when I could usually look into the fridge and pull out something worthwhile and put it together in a few minutes. Mind you...my version of "worthwhile" typically consists of a couple spoonfulls of cottage cheese, a little salad and some hummus with pita bread. Most people, especially my ex-football player of a husband, don't really find that an appealing alternative to a warm meal. This cookbook has been my saving grace! Every recipe we've tried has been extremely delicious and has won rave reviews from both my husband and friends. Even better still...if you're just recently married or for whatever reason find yourself as "just the two of you" these recipes are perfect because they're written with that in mind. Definitely helps to minimize the waste! I was even able to make oatmeal raisin cookies that ended up perfectly chewy and crunchy (not puffy or flat). Really...if you're recently married or just in the hunt for some good recipes you should definitely check out this wonderful cookbook. You won't be sorry you did.
JUST FOR TWO February 8, 2008 Although I have been married for an eternity, I really love those recipes created mostly for 2. Very nice and almost simple dishes I had forgotten. Love the coconut rice.
