It's like the beauty side of The Matrix...what's REAL/what's NOT? October 31, 2007 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Wow, who knew it was possible to have Faux pets?! As you turn page, after page, of this delicious largely full-sized, 4-colour picture pages... ...you start to wonder what's real, and what's not.
Let me tell you, what's real is the talent of these artists and the dreams it will inspire in you to have a House that Faux Built.
A "Do-It-Yourselfer" Must-Have October 31, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is wonderful updated version of the original, which I totally loved, too! For those who dare declare they do not possess a "creative bone in their body," you can actually do this stuff! Give it a try. Adrienne's ideas and talent are an inspiration.
My first exposure October 31, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Adrienne van Dooren's book on faux decorating is my first real exposure to this craft/art form. I'm blown away by the possibilities for engaging creativity, style, self-expression, and playfulness through faux. The book by itself is an inspiration, a beauty, a treasure. Enjoy it!
I need all the help I can get, and this book provides it! October 31, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ok, I admit it. Visual arts are not my strong suit, even though I love decorating. My thing is words, not walls. I need help creating the rooms I envision, and this book gives it. How to get from the idea for faux looks in my head to the actual effect in the room is a challenge for me, but this book makes it so much easier. Pictures, descriptions and techniques take the worry out and put the beauty in! It works for me! Buy it, you will be glad you did!

Beautiful Ideas at More Beautiful Prices October 31, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was one of the lucky people to receive Adrienne's first version of her book. It was very well done and gave my husband and me several ideas for "fauxing" our guest cabin, which we were in the process of renovating. Our guests have raved about the ideas we used from Adrienne's book. The new edition is even better. We've decided to add Adrienne's book to our selection of guest books. It's been very well received by people who tire of typical magazine articles. This is substance that you can actually implement!
