It will be fun to try these recipes this summer. They seem simple and healthy.

This is a great cookbook. Easy to follow instructions. I received order promptly.
Great book full of healthy copycat recipes. March 19, 2007 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I used to love fast food. However, recently I have become much more health conscious and have watched my fat and calorie intake and have avoided heavily processed foods. If you're in the same boat as me, you will probably love this book. This book contains pleathora of recipes, many of which are probably your fast food favorites. What's great about it is that while she is able to significantly cut back on fat and calories, she still tries to keep the recipes as close to their restaurant counterparts as possible. In other words, there will still be beef in the Big Mac, not turkey. She also keeps the portion sizes the same and in some instances, portions are even larger.
In her preface, she also offers some very interesting nuggets about nutrition and the restaurant industry in general and some inconsistencies she's seen. Even if you don't make any of the recipes, this information can be eye opening.
My one complaint is that I wish there were suggestions to lighten the recipes even further. She does provide some, but it would be great to get even more tips since some of these recipes, while healthier, are still somewhat indulgent to someone on a reduced calorie diet. This cookbook also doesn't seem like the quick and easy variety a la Rachel Ray. This doesn't trouble me because I actually like spending time in the kitchen, but for those looking for an extremely easy, 3-4 ingredient meal this probably isn't the best cookbook.
Fast Food Fix - FABULOUS! March 10, 2007 The highest compliment I can pay to a "diet" cookbook is this:
My family NEVER suspected I was feeding them low calorie, healthy meals!
Fast Food Fix is the ultimate cookbook for our generation - we all want to be healthy but we all want to eat the foods we've grown up on. Fast Food Fix gives us the tool we need to do that. From Cinnabon to Pizza Hut, there are recipes here that will satisfy any junk food junkie, whether weight loss is a priority or not.
For my crew, the Pizza Hut Deep Dish Pizza recipe was a huge hit. The recipe is a bit time-consuming, as Devin points out but it's worth it. It was also a great opportunity for me to teach my 11 year old daughter some of the finer points of preparing dough, building the perfect pizza and how easily we can make small substitutions and lower the calorie count.
For dessert, Cinnabons are the only way to go! My husband could not believe that what he was eating wasn't from the mall - and that it was actually good for him!
I have read many, many diet cookbooks and been underwhelmed by most of them. The recipes were not family-friendly or budget-friendly and frankly, none of them addressed my need for good old American fast food. Fast Food Fix has been a major factor in my 74 lb weight loss -- I recommend it in my own book The Sex And Chocolate Diet because I like it so much!
Another good cookbook March 10, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is another good cookbook if you are cutting your fat intake. It is mainly common sense that you can use on your own. She takes recipes from fast food joints and cuts the amount of fat in them.
