Another great addition from Martha August 9, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
For devotees, this planner yet another great addition to the library of Martha. I am planning my wedding for June 2007 and use it to keep track of all my "current" clippings, vendors and planning notes. Though I do like the included planning sections, most modern brides will find themselves keeping track of their guests/budget/vendors on spreadsheets so all the extra creamy white pages will probably be discarded.
The overall design and feel of the binder is wonderful and truly elegant without being cheesy and is definitely a keepsake to treasure after your wedding. There are numerous sections all covering the different aspects of planning a wedding with lots of helpful advice. Maybe too much. All of the pages add up and make for less room of your own stuff and after reading a season of magazines, you'll probably have all the basics memorized anyway.
However, the section on flowers is particularly helpful as it features page after page of beautiful glossy photos of different flowers all broken out by color. But be sure to check that the flower names are correct as I have found some alternate names for specific flowers. The major complaint about this binder is that it is too small and quite flimsy. The cover is constantly sliding all over the place as its binding to the spine is too loose and the elastic band doesn't do much to keep it together.
Overall, one of the best planner binders out there. Elegant, simple and classic.
I found a better one July 28, 2006 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Ok so I've been looking for the right binder for a while. I'm doing an Indian wedding so I wanted something that can cover ALL the questions. "The Bride's Essential Wedding Planner - Deluxe edition" by Amy Nebens is a better one.
I was almost sold on getting this book the till I went to the bookstore to see it 1st.
Cons: - No index - too many useless pictures. You can find that on the internet or in magazines with more variety. - not enough substance
Pros: The color scheme. It's pretty.
I eventually bought "The Bride's Essential Wedding Planner - Deluxe edition" by Amy Nebens for almost the same price. Pros on that one are: how to write thank you notes, invitations, etc. checklists, photo poses list, money saving tips, etc. It just seemed more practical for me than alot of same filler pictures that I can get from the internet. Con: No magazine pictures, but I can add those :)
Hope this helps.
Great Planner! July 12, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
All other planners I looked at were either too small, or had a really gaudy, loud cover on them. This one is absolutely perfect with a beautiful, understated light-green cover and room for information given by vendors on 8.5X11 paper. I think one of the most helpful things is the flower section...divided by color with beautiful pictures and a description of each kind. So helpful for someone like myself who doesn't know a whole lot about flowers! Also helpful are the plastic sheets that hole business cards and other misc. items. I love this planner!
Great Book, Beautiful Keepsake July 11, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Martha Stewart's Keepsake and Wedding Planner book has great pictures and worksheets. It really lays everything out from the processional and the flowers, to invitations and the wedding gown, to the cake and wedding etiquette. I love it! Not only is it an informative book, but it's also a beautiful keepsake.

Given as a Engagement gift - she really liked it. They have their wedding date set for a year from now so it was appropriate to give as an engagement gift - not being pushy.
The book has a lot of very useful information, as well as places for contracts, business cards and fabric samples, along with a guide for deciding on flowers at that time of year.
