Great Cookbook May 13, 2008 I've been a subscribing member to Hungry Girl's email for about 6 months. And when I heard that they were coming out with this cookbook, I was so excited. And this book did not let me down. I like to eat, but I don't like cooking. The recipes in this book are simple, use few ingredients, easy to make, and are very tasty. I don't even look at my other cookbooks anymore. It doesn't even feel like it's a cookbook!
5 Stars for Hungry Girl! May 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been a fan of the Hungry Girl website for a while now. It's so wonderful to finally have a collection of what I consider fabulous recipes right in front of me. I am NEVER disappointed in HG's recipes and Lisa is dead on when she says something is tasty (or not). My daughter made HG's delicious turkey meatloaf (from the HG book) for a terrific Mother's Day dinner for me. She followed it with HG's pudding/CoolWhip ice cream cone for dessert. I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day dinner!
The nutritional content is excellent information that is printed with every recipe in the book. I use my Weight Watchers point "slider" as a book marker so I can calculate the number of points in each dish.
The price of the book was extremely reasonable, too. I hope the NEXT book from HG has more color pictures though. I know it's expensive to print color photos but would be HAPPY TO PAY MORE $$ for the book if it had pictures for each recipe. You hear me HG?
Mother's Day lifesaver!! May 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all, I love the book!! I had dozens of recipes from the website, printed out from over the last two years, in a binder titled "Hungry Mom". I couldn't wait to get the book and try more HG recipes. I showed it to my co-workers and they said they were going right out to buy the book for their moms for Mother's Day!! Woohoo! Hungry Girl to the rescue. It's priced right and reads well, with tips on every page.
Fun Cook Book May 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a simple, fun cook book for non-serious dieters. It's especially helpful for children's and young people who like "junk" food. It's very entertaining and has many easy substitutions that save calories. Don't get me wrong it's certainly worth buying !!!!!!!!
Fun and flavorful May 10, 2008 This is not your typical cookbook, very simple recipes that satisfy the sweet tooth. I use many of the recipes on a regular basis. It also has great suggestions for travel and work snacks.
