1 out of 5 stars waste of money   August 30, 2003

This magazine wasn't a magazine, it was a couple of black and white sheets of paper with a couple of recipes on it. I was not impressed. I had given one "subscription" as a gift. When I saw the poor quality I didn't even tell the gift receipient that it was a gift or it was from me. ...

1 out of 5 stars Not what promised   May 11, 2003

What I was promised: a "review of the myriad of ways one can take leftovers and liquor to new heights". What I got: two white sheets of paper with 3 recipes printed in black ink. Three recipes is not a "myriad of ways . . . ".

Besides liquor, the Amazon.com editorial review also mentioned bread pudding recipes with "oozing caramel sauce, seasonal fresh fruit". None of these (liquor, caramel sauce or fresh fruit) were in any of the three recipes. They either need to be included or not mentioned in the Editorial review.

The publisher described this magazine as "Recipes and possibilities for making bread pudding". Though the recipes were creative, the format and number of recipes did not live up to the Editorial Review, the publisher's description or even to the title of "magazine subscription". If it had been in a 4-page newsletter format with b/w and color ink, a couple color graphics and 8 recipes I would have been fine with that.

The Cancellation policy for this magazine is "cannot be canceled or refunded". I spent [money] for this magazine. (I bought one for myself and two for gifts.) If this is the policy, the Amazon.com editorial review need to be accurate and the quality of "Bread Pudding Update" needs to be improved.

Hopefully either Amazon.com will discontinue this magazine or the publisher will act on these sugestions and the editorial review will be rewritten to more acurrately reflect the recipes.

Because I love to cook, I hope the publisher will act on my suggestions and make improvements. A bread pudding magazine is a neat culinary idea, it could be something special with some more effort.

WTF! OK you know that you are living in a sad sad world when people are buying specialist magazines about bread puddings. What's next Bread Pudding Illustrated?

But then again maybe I'll be myself a copy and give it one of my friends for a birthday present just to throw them a curveball. Strangers things have happened....

Knew you'd be pleased.
