Hotel & Motel Management is a magazine designed to assist management and other hotel personnel with the smooth and efficient operations of a hotel or resort. This magazine is published twenty- one times per year and has been in print for more than 130 years, making it one of the oldest magazines in continuous existence.

Most of the contents of this magazine center on improvement, maintenance, innovation, and customer service. Articles are generally practical and direct, letting management know about the latest trends in running a hotel and the latest products and services to accommodate and satisfy guests. You can read all about topics like cost reduction, financing, marketing, maintenance, amenities, and other hotel- related news and information.

This magazine has the look and appearance of a newspaper. The front cover of each issue has the beginning parts of several articles contained within, with a page reference to read more- just like your local newspaper. And because the magazine is so short in length, the articles are generally brief. They are usually one page or shorter in length and while some of them give you the facts you need to know, others succeed only at whetting your appetite, creating a need for more information that will have to be obtained by looking elsewhere.

I like this magazine for its timeliness, its new product information, and its business- related articles. For those who do not work in the hotel/motel/resort industry, this magazine will probably not be very appealing. It does offer some business news and advice that could apply to anyone in any industry. But the bulk of the magazine's articles are intended for those who work in the accommodations field. It would be nice if it was a little longer, but it still offers some good reading.
