5 out of 5 stars Cucina Itaniana   September 2, 2008
Bought as a gift for a hard-to-shop-for fan on all all things Italian. He's thrilled with the magazine.

5 out of 5 stars Bon Italiano!   February 25, 2008
When my wife and I got back from our trip to Italy last June, we thirstily bought everything Italian since we had such a great time over there. This magazine was one of the things we bought to help remind us of what it was like over there. We enjoy cooking new dishes but sometimes find it hard to find all of the ingrediants here in the States. One funny thing is that I didn't realize we got the magazine and mistakenly sent in a subscription for it for a Christmas present. Luckily, the publisher simply extended our subscription and didn't send us 2 issues of the same magazine. That would not have been good!

2 out of 5 stars Will take your money   February 6, 2008
I bought a two year gift subscription for someone, and four months later I get a notice that the subcription is nearly up. I try to go to their website to complain but it keeps freezing my computer.
There really isn't anything I can do about this, but I wanted to warn others about their business practices.

5 out of 5 stars Great magazine for people who love to cook authentic Italian   January 7, 2008

I saw the Italian version of this magazine while on a trip to Italy and was pleasantly surprised to find it available in English. This is a great magazine for people who love to cook authentic Italian food - beautiful imagery, good background information on the place/origin of the recipes, and fresh ingredients that embody the soul of Italian cooking. If you are looking for quick 30-minute meals, this magazine may not be for you. But, if you truly enjoy cooking, don't mind spending a little extra time in the kitchen, and want to replicate some of the great food you had on your last trip to Italy, I would highly recommend this magazine.

5 out of 5 stars Nice magazine for lovers of Italian food and culture   July 10, 2006

A passionate home cook that has been honing her cooking skills for the last 25 years, concentrating on Italian cooking for the last 10 years, writes this review. My favorite cookbooks are "The Professional Chef" by the Culinary Institute and "Culinary Artistry". I love cooking and own more than 500 cookbooks. I am very interested in both Italian food and culture. I thoroughly enjoy this magazine, but it is probably not for everyone. The target audience for this magazine is those that love Italy and Italian cooking. This is a not a quick cook magazine. As with much of Italian cooking the recipes can be time as time consuming, as they are delicious. However, if you have time to prepare the recipes this is a great magazine.

The August 2006 issue contained the following information:

Tidbits: Jump-start your summer with Sardinian products and a must-have health read
Bacco: Italian Wine of the Month club
Wine News: Regional Wine tasting tour
Style: Coastal Themed entertaining ware
Special Occasion: Italian Style 4th of July Picnic
A Tavola:
.....Antipasti
.....First Course
.....Fish and Seafood
.....Meat and Poultry
.....Vegetables
.....Dessert
.....Quick and Easy
Close Up: Apricots
Cooking School: Fruit
Sweet and Savory: Antipasti
Cocktail: Rosemary Lemonade
Courses at the Italian Cooking Institute in NYC
My Tuscany
Glossary
Recipe Index
Cellar Notes

There are 55 recipes provided in this issue of the magazine. The recipes cover everything from Antipasti through Dessert. One of the things I like about this magazine is that the recipes titles are given both in English and Italian. I also find the directions for the recipes to be extremely detailed and easy follow for both the beginner and seasoned cooks. I also like that the recipes are authentic Italian, and not the usual Italian American. Most of the recipes have a beautiful photograph of the dish provided.

The magazine is a reasonable length. The total length of this periodical is 98 pages including advertising. There are many advertisements in this periodical. However, as someone that is always looking for new sources of Italian products I don't consider that to be a problem.

Overall I would recommend this magazine to those home cooks that love Italy and Italian food. I would suggest that you find a copy on the newsstand before subscribing, just to be certain that it is something that you will enjoy. If you are like me, a devoted Italiaphile that loves to cook, this is the magazine for you. I have been reading this magazine for almost 10 years and it just keeps getting better.
