5 out of 5 stars Chutney Instead of Catsup   June 14, 2008
Tomato catsup has evolved into an insipid and unnecessarily sweet sauce that only a child should be unashamed to like. Even home recipes get it wrong - too much sugar (any amount of sugar is too much). For a good home recipe with enterntaining comments, read "Good Maine Food" by Marjorie Mosser and Kenneth Roberts. If you cannot make or buy good tomato catsup, buy Neera's tomato mint chutney. Because it is a chutney, sugar is probably an ingredient; but this chutney is neither insipid nor sweet. The flavor is a rich blend of tomato, mint, and spices. This chutney will greatly improve a burger, a meat patty, or anything else you might serve with tomato catsup.

5 out of 5 stars Best Chutney!   July 19, 2007

I got this for a gift from a friend in New Mexico. I had it for a year and finally tried it. ZOWIE! This is the best jar chutney I have ever tasted! I want to try their other chutneys and products. It is really fresh tasting and perfectly spiced. It is excellent on burgers and other meats. I could eat it by the spoonful, but savor it. Now that I found out where to buy it, I will be a regular consumer of this product.
