 A drying rack that rusts? August 18, 2007

We purchased this drying rack because it matched the stainless appliances in our kitchen and we trust the name. Unfortunately, this product began to rust within a couple weeks. A drying rack that rusts? Generally Rubbermaid products are well made, with quality construction. I can't believe that they would produce a product that should withstand water, that rusts.
We replaced this product after less than a month.

The Large Chrome Dish Drainer is the kind of product I've come to expect from Rubbermaid. I'm not sure why they made it from chrome and not stainless steel (maybe to keep the price down; or does stainless discolor after long-term use?), but I bought it for my mother, and she really likes it. She saw one at someone's home and had to have it; so I bought it for her. In our view (me and my mom), the Rubbermaid Large Chrome Dish Drainer is a good product.

The Rubbermaid Chrome Dish Drainer arrived in a timely fashion. However, the utensil holder was not included. I promptly contacted the seller by email. Their representative apologized profusely in her response and assured me that the utensil holder would arrive promptly. Two weeks later, I did not have a utensil holder and I had received no further communication from the company. I plan to return the item and dispute the charge on my credit card. I also have found the same item under a different brand name for a cheaper price at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

...What else do you need? Nice quality, attractive -- I have had this for several months now and no sign of wear. Plenty of room -- this is larger than the ever-popular rubber-coated Rubbermaid dish drainer everyone has (so don't think you're going to cram this thing in one side of your twin sink).
