slow November 18, 2008 I replaced an older Oasis hot/cool dispenser with this one and the water flows out incredibly slow. I found that I had to sit there for what seemed like a very long time while the water trickled out. If you need to fill a soup pot, you might want to pull up a chair.... you'll be there awhile. It might not seem like a big deal, but ask yourself how often you drink water and multiply the wasted time. Not worth it.
Would not order again. September 21, 2008 I ordered this cooler, it arrived inoperable, I follwed the instructions to the T. Water was collecting in the bottom and leaking on the floor. Another cooler arrived (which I did not ask for) from another company, I was charged twice, this one the same thing, and the water tank do not fit the top. I have contacted the company (Primo Water), and after 30 days I was told too bad, to late. You get what you pay for.. I am not a happy consumer.
Bad Customer Service June 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This cooler was delivered on time but unfortunately is was DOA. I contacted Primo customer service and was confident that the situation would be resolved promptly. They were pleasant enough but it's two weeks later I still have the defective cooler. I have called four times now and still have no definitive answer on repair or replacement. If you purchase this unit and it arrives working hope it never needs repair as I seriously doubt you would get it. What ever happened to accountability and good customer service? No one should have to spend hours trying to resolve a simple problem like this.
Had some issues June 23, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Item arrived quickly and in good condition. However, I do have some issues with the product's design: It performs well; that is, it heats and cools the water as advertised. However, it is much smaller than I expected (shame on me for not reading the dimensions more closely). I'm an average height (5' 10"), yet I had to bend fully at the waste in order to reach the nozzles. I put the unit on a 12" platform in order to be able to reach the nozzles more comfortably. The nozzle handles are set into the unit, which is good if you want to prevent snagging on clothing in high traffic areas, but is a bit more difficult to use because the handles interfere with the spouts, particularly with larger containers. There is very little room beneath the spouts, as well, so even filling a normal 12-16 oz glass without spilling can be a challenge. It is impossible to change the bottle without spilling. There is an odd five inch probe-like apparatus that extends into the neck of the bottle when installed which you have to get the bottle over, and I haven't successfully done so without losing a pint or so. Messy. Good deal for the money, I suppose, but overall not particularly well engineered.
Exactly what I hoped for June 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I notice they've raised this price in only just the last week or so (by around $20--wow!), which is disappointing, but even so, this water cooler is exactly what I had been looking for, and I'd buy it again, even at the higher price.
I am currently living on an American base in Germany, so I have limited options. This completely fit the bill. They rent almost identical units out here for $10 a month! This is a MUCH better deal, considering we will be here a few years. In addition, my order got to me in under 2 weeks, which is outstanding in my location, considering the size of the box. If you happen to be ordering from an APO/FPO, it is still an excellent decision, not nearly as slow as many other larger items I've ordered online.
The only 5 gallon water bottles available to me here are Culligan water bottles, and as it turns out, this cooler is PERFECT for those... It's designed to open the bottle for you, without you actually taking the cap off; you just peel the little seal off the bottle cap, and it opens up the bottle itself once it is overturned in the unit without any spillage at all, just by putting the bottle into the unit.
The cold is truly cold. The hot is hot... the only criticism I have on the hot is that if you have more than a couple of cups to fill, you will have to wait for it to reheat to get more truly hot water.
I like that it has a safety dispenser on the hot water spigot. I feel much safer using it with young children in the house.
