We got this table - or what appears to be the same table - from a warehouse in NY. We needed a small table for a one room studio apartment the size of a one-car garage. The warehouse also had a 42" round drop leaf table with a different style pedestal bottom that the guy said was of better quality, but we opted for the smaller one. Assembly is supposed to require only a phillips head screwdriver and an included allen wrench, but I found that I needed my drill because I was not strong enough to drive the screws through the support legs into the table. (A word of explanation here. The support legs are 4" deep and about a 3/4" wide. The screws go throuh the 4" into the table top, but not through the entire 4" because 7/16' holes have been drilled three quarters of the way though to allow your screwdriver to fit in. The remaining quarter is supposed to be drilled through with a bit the width of the screw. There are eight holes like this in the supports. Some were drilled through they way they were supposed to be, and some weren't. I had a drill with the correct size bit handy, so no problem). The table top is butcher block pine with a couple of coats of polyurthane, and the screws went right into it. There are no pre-drilled holes in the table top. There are four pieces in the box: the table top, and three pedestal pieces: one east-west piece, a north piece, and a south piece. Don't make the mistable I did and start screwing the north piece to the east-west piece. The south piece has holes drilled all the way through, and what you do is place the 4" screw though the south piece, through the thin part of the east west piece, and into the north piece. Then screw it in with the allen wrench.
Once assembled the table is fine. The flaps are held open with a piece of wood, also pine, that slides out. The sliding mechanism comes attached to the table top. However, be careful when after assembly you turn the table over and stand it up. I hit the edge of the table on the floor and broke the flap support mechanism on one side - not a problem for me since the table is going to be up against a wall with one flap down at all times. The broken flap goes against the wall. Also, the mechansim is so simple, if I wanted to I could build or have made for me one made of hard wood. But try to use two people to turn the table over after assembly. The table comes with leveler pieces that screw into the bottem so the table will be steady on an uneven floor. Necessary, because on a level floor the table would rock. With the leveler screws the table is steady.
In conclusion, the table looks like the picture and is perfect for what we wanted it for. We are pleased with our purchase - and we will donate it to the apartment's next inhabitant.

Although this is a nice little set and priced right for someone on a budget, I received it without assembly instructions. I knew some assembly would be required but was unable to do other than guess at the appropriate arrangement of parts. Unfortunately I didn't come to the correct conclusion and my chairs will never "sit" right. This problem could have been avoided if instructions had been included with the shipment. Every time I use the set, I am unfortunately reminded of the fact that the chairs will never be right.
