Amazon.com Review A backpacker or solo camper will find this mess kit indispensable. A step up from kits of old, this one features a nonstick finish on the inside of the 3/4-quart pot, seven-inch frying pan, and seven-inch dish. All cookware is made of aluminum for lightweight yet sturdy use. A plastic eight-ounce cup with handle stores inside the pot with its snug lid. When all the parts are nestled together, the frying pan's handle pivots over the pot and screws securely. Plastic or wooden cooking utensils should be used, and cleanup is a simple matter of wiping off each nonstick surface. --Ann Bieri

Sticky Subject September 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this kit to be able to cook for 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids). I was impressed with the versatility of the kit. What I was dissappointed with the the "non-stick" coating. I have had cheap mess kits with better non-stick coating. It held up well, but was too sticky for my taste. I guess I'll just drag along a spray bottle of cooking oil next time.
Nice, small set-up for the woods August 21, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I gave this only four stars not due to the quality of the set, which is very good, but for the size. The pot and frying pan are quite small, and I cannot imagine being able to cook enough food in either one to satisfy me. That said, I just bought a bigger frying pan, a couple of slightly larger pots, and am happy with the set up I have now. I would suggest putting a paper towel between the layers of cookware to prevent scratching during travel. Otherwise it is a good quality set, and with a few additions, will meet all of you outdoor cookware needs.
Great mess kit July 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice non stick surface, good, size, nests well. Only reason I didn't go 5 starts is because a metal sierra cup with folding handle would be better than a plastic one.
Great Camping Gear! May 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great step up from my ancient boy scout mess kit. It is just like my old boy scout mess kit in that it has everything I need, is durable, and reliable, transportable, and most importantly... small. What makes the huge difference is that it's non-stick! It is so easy to cook and clean on, dish washing at camp becomes a snap.
Compact and complete February 25, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The non-stick finish makes them easy to clean and use, and the aluminum composition makes it the ideal weight... light! It all fits together easily and performed well over the campfire... perfect for dehydrated meals. Measure the water, heat it up, pour it in and you're ready to eat. The set heats and cools quickly, thanks to aluminum's ability to transfer heat efficiently. Last but not least, It's made in the U.S.A.!
