Amazon.com Review Many wine connoisseurs are already familiar with the fast and furious cork-pulling action of Metrokane's Rabbit corkscrew. This bunny-eared device makes an excellent companion to the corkscrew for those evenings when you can't quite finish an entire bottle of wine. The Rabbit vacuum pump comes with two rubber push-button stoppers, which you insert into the top of your half-empty wine bottle. The pump positions over the stopper and, using the two lower handles, grips the neck of the wine bottle. The vacuum pump, operating similarly to the corkscrew, requires just four swift pumps on the ear-like handle to draw most of the air from your wine bottle (which can destroy the properties and flavor of your wine). This durable device has all-metal gear teeth and a soft, anti-slip coating on all handles to provide a solid grip. --Cristina Vaamonde

Poor Product September 7, 2008 This device has two major flaws, both of which alone would render it useless. First, it simply does not pump well. One has to work a lot and there is almost no result. Second the stopper breaks after a couple of uses. There are three rubber rings around the stopper that are meant to keep a tight fit with the bottle. However, these rings break off after a couple of uses, and the stopper does not work any more. Simply a poorly designed product.
poor May 27, 2008 does not produce a very good vaccume. the wine did not taste very good after two days.
Does work worth a flip January 13, 2008 To get it to work you need to hold it just right, and then the only way you can tell if you have done it right is to let the pressure off. So all in all it's pretty useless.
Do not buy this product. December 19, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like the majority of the reviews relating to this product, I was disapointed in it's performance. I am able to form a seal and create a vacuum, however, hours later the vacuum is gone no matter what bottle it is being used on. Do not buy this product.

Metrokane Rabbit Lever Vacuum Pump works with the majority of wine bottles. The trick is to force it tightly down to the top of the wine bottle and hold it down while pumping back and forth very slowly until you feel the vacuum take effect.
