VERY PLEASED January 6, 2009 I love this! I was able to get rid of my knife block. Installation was not difficult. The magnetic area is fine (not overly strong where I have to tug @ my knives). Would definately recommend & purchase again if need be.
Refridgerator Option for Mangnet Knife Bars December 23, 2008 I have seen people writing about knife bar options for refridgerators and finding no luck. Well, here you go. I simply took two of the 15 inch MIU bars and screwed them together back to back. The screw holes are on each end under the black plastic removeable molding you see in the picture. One magnet attacheds nicely to the refriderator and the magnet on the opposite side facing out is used for the knifes. The magnet is plenty strong to hold the weight and attach both mangenets to the refridgerator and pulling the knifes from the magnet does not move or dilodge the mangnets from the refer. It is great. Now for the secret of how you attachment togther with the screws you will need to pay me a fortune. The magnets like to play trick on you when you try to put the screws through and attach a nut. You will have fun. You can't use the screws included. The are for wall mounting one magnet. Have fun trying and if you need some help ring me at 774-276-0286 or email me at rexhoward@verizon.net.
Have fun! Written 23December 2008
Strong magnetics but cheep screws August 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This magnetic strip is really strong. But the screws that came with the product were cheep, we ended up using some spare screws we had on hand because the top just melted into nothing and one of the tops broke off in the wall. So keep that in mind if you purchase this.
Great for a small kitchen. July 30, 2008 This Magnetic Knife Storage Bar feels heavy and solid as it comes out of the package. It is easy to install with just 2 screws. The magnet seems just right - strong enough to hold the knives firmly, yet the knives come off easily when you need them. I installed mine at a 45 degree angle, and it still could hold all my favorite prep/cooking knives and a scissor (8 all together but 4 are smaller paring size). And, for me, it was also a big space saver in my small kitchen as it replaced a big bulky wood block. It looks good too!
Pretty nice if you want all steel... July 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very nice knife holder...all steel as compared to the oak and steel one we replaced. Matches up nicely with the stainless kitchens that are currently(this 15 minutes) popular. Purchased at a 'sale' price, it compares favorably with the generally less expensive Rockler oak and steel holder that might be a touch stronger. No problem holding the knives, just not as strong as some other magnetized holders I've owned.
