Product Description For fine grating of Nuts, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Ginger and Other Spices Blade Material - Surgical Grade Stainless Steel Handle Material - Black Santaprene Suggested Uses - Finely grates nuts for baking & decorating / Grates nutmeg for the freshest flavor / Purees ginger and other roots instantly / Grates other spices for added flavor
Amazon.com Review This long, slender tool makes fast work of grinding up those rock-hard chunks of fresh nutmeg. The sturdy plastic handle makes it easy to grip, while the razor-sharp stainless-steel blades do the hard work. As always with a sharp grater, be careful to keep your fingers clear--safety can be especially challenging when you're working with those slippery little spices. The Microplane spice grater also works well on nuts, dried hot peppers, ginger, and anything particularly tough or fibrous. --Jill Lightner

fantastic December 8, 2007 we should have had this years ago as it would have saved me getting cut fingers!!! I love it, easy to use and your fingers never touch the surface of the microplane, nutmeg glides over it and its perfect!!i would highly recommend this to anyone who grates their own spices.
exelent product July 21, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the spice grater and the fine one, both products are amazing. My next step is to buy the coarse one. Like a chef i really enjoy using those.

I love this grater. It really shows nutmeg who's the boss. However, don't get over-confident and think you can use this for cinnamon. Cinnamon has to be ground professionally. I would also recommend using a larger model for ginger, if you have one.
Easy clean up, I just toss mine in the dishwasher.
Great little gadget January 14, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic tool. It grates nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and other hard spices with ease, and without the risk of scraping your knuckles either. It's dishwasher safe and small enough to not take up valuable kitchen space. The drawback to this gadget for me is the fact that its usefulness is limited. In my opinion, it's much too small to grate cheeses, citrus zests, chocolate etc, so I have a separate microplane to tackle those jobs. Nonetheless, it's a welcome addition to my kitchen and I'm sure it would be to yours.
The best kitchen gadget you will ever buy December 29, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I hesitated for a long time before I bought one of these. I mean, really - a grater is just a grater, right? Wrong! This thing is worlds better than the standard graters I'd been using all my life. It makes grating hard cheeses (i.e., parmesan) and spices (i.e., nutmeg) so much easier it's truly amazing. I love this thing and find more uses for it all the time. A quick rinse under running water is all it needs for most cleanup. And, it's much harder to grate your own fingers with this than the old box-grater. Highly recommended!
