Product Description
This lamp kit makes it easy to turn any wine bottle or similar size container into an attractive, instant lamp. The kit is pre-assembled for your convenience. All you need to do is push the cork into a wine bottle neck, add a bulb (and shade if you prefer) and plug it in. The electrical parts included in this kit consist of a brass finish socket with built-in push-thru switch and a 8 foot gold cord exiting from the side of the socket. In addition there is a tapered cork fastened to the bottom of the socket that measures 7/8" diameter at the top and 5/8" diameter at the bottom. The cork is 1" high and is concealed when pushed into the bottle by a 1" diameter brass plated cap. If you have a favorite wine bottle that was used on some significant occasion or if you just have an interesting bottle with an unusual shape or label you can now turn it into a practical keepsake. This lamp kit is of great quality but did not fit the wine jug I wanted to use it for. The cork insert was just too small to fit the bottle opening. I am wondering if it would fit any wine jug opening perfectly as it is quite small. I did manage to use it by using some filler around the cork itself but would have preferred it the insert had fit without help.

Works well, and the cork/lamp fits most bottles, vodka or beer included. Keep in mind the smaller the bulb the better, particularly if you will not be using a lamp shade. I use mine as a bar lamp in a small vodka bottle, with a stained glass 25 watt bulb or 7 watt for softer lighting - no shade. The socket holds medium based bulbs - worth noting.
