| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This stainless steel, cordless kettle lifts off its 360 swivel base for easy filling & pouring. A great gift for office or dorm, it boils water for tea, hot chocolate, or instant foods like oatmeal or soup. The cool-touch bottom won't mar surfaces.

Really attractive horrible kettle January 6, 2009 I got this kettle about a month ago. It's quite nice looking - very snazzy red color and the shape is quite unique. Aesthetically very pleasing. However, it has 2 major flaws. 1) it loses heat VERY rapidly. Once the kettle boils, you pretty much have to sprint over to it and use the water to do whatever it is you're going to do with the water, or it cools down and you have to re-boil it. I have a tendency to boil water, get up to something else for a few minutes, and then go make my tea. With this kettle I'd have to boil the water again and again before I was finally near the kettle when it went off. 2) it broke. The view window that allows you to see the water level in the kettle came loose and it started leaking. Very sad. I was willing to deal with flaw #1 - like I said, it's a really neat looking kettle. But when #2 hit... well, it's garbage and I'm looking for an uglier, more efficient and in-one-piecey kettle now.
Prettier in Person January 5, 2009 I just love this tea kettle. It arrived approx 2 weeks ago and I have been using it twice a day since. I love the cordless feature and the color is a deep metallic red, darker than the picture shows. I haven't (touch wood) had any problems at all and hope to be using it for a long time to come.
Tight Lid & Too Hard to Fill January 4, 2009 This kettle is really great looking, shiny red and curvy. However, the lid is very difficult to open once you have pushed it down in place. I have carpel tunnel and I almost couldn't get it open at all. The handle runs directly across the access to add water, and the handle doesn't move out of the way. This really does make it difficult to fill.
It's a pretty kettle but not very functional for my situation.
Love it, but... January 2, 2009 I bought one of these for myself and another for a friend and both of ours developed leaks (slow leak from around the measuring window) in the first year. It doesn't seem to happen unless you leave water standing in it for some time. Otherwise, I love the style and the performance. Luckily, I kept my original receipt and Black and Decker is replacing it.
Great style, disappointing performance! December 30, 2008 We bought this kettle (our 3rd cordless) because we loved the design and cool color. We have owned it for about a year and sadly it is now leaking through the measuring window. No big deal if we had only paid $25 or so... but for the price it shouldn't be this disposable! What is the point of stainless steel when the plastic window doesn't hold up? We also agree with the other reviewer about the handle being in the wrong place... hard to get the water in/ top off. We actually use a pitcher to pour the water in... cumbersome. We won't buy B & D again!
