Wow August 6, 2008 I have struggled with every affordable wine opener on the market and have fallen in love with this one. With no effort at all the cork comes out smoothly and in one piece every time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing like it.
My favorite even if unchanged after 11 years September 1, 2007 This Brabantia cork screw remains my favorite corkscrew, even after over 11 years of almost unchanged design. It is the most user friendly one of them all and works with virtually any bottle.
The plastic one I bought lasted me 11 years. Now I'm buying a steel one of the same model. It may last the rest of my life.
Its foil cutter is unsurpassed. It always works. Any other cork screw has problems if one doe snot use the right angle, or traps my skin because it is made out of two moving pieces instead of one like this Brabantia one.
Not as nice as the one I got 10 years ago in Holland August 29, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The one I got 10 years ago in Holland was way better - there was an integrated regular bottle opener (for beer), the foil cutter cut the foil effortlessly, and to remove the cork from the opener was very easy. This one - "New and Improved" (!) is a stripped down version Pros: extracts corks well Cons: No regular bottle opener. Foil cutter is hard to use. Hard to remove the cork from the opener.
