Most coffee roasters and tea buyers recommend using a coffee or tea press to enjoy the beverages at their best, but the devices have typically offered one major disadvantage--the brewed coffee or tea cooled quickly within the glass carafe. The Bodum Columbia thermal press overcomes this shortcoming with its double-walled stainless-steel construction, which insulates hot coffee or tea to keep it warm for up to two hours. The end result is a rich, flavorful beverage with perfectly extracted flavors and aromas. To use the Columbia press for coffee, grind fresh beans to a coarse consistency, add 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of water, then add hot water and brew for four to five minutes before plunging the press. Tea brews in the same manner, but with whole tea leaves instead. The press holds up to 48 ounces of liquid--enough for 12 small cups of coffee (4 ounces each)--and features Bodum's patented safety lid to keep the contents from spilling. For best results, users should dedicate the press to brewing one beverage only, as coffee and tea flavors tend to cross over when brewed separately in the same vessel.  Making coffee with a press just got better. August 10, 2008
Combine that with the quality of a product and your in for some great tasting coffee. My Bodum 1.5L Columbia Thermal Coffee Press does just that and more. The more being it also makes great tea!

After having french press coffee for the first time I decided it was time to trade in my drip coffee pot for a french press. Since we entertain quite a bit we needed a large one. This one is a great size and looks nice too. Makes great coffee!

Don't believe the naysayers June 11, 2008
After my first sip of coffee from this press, I could tell that this was not your average coffee press. This press is worth every penny. I've read the reviews before I purchased this about the rubber taste, and the lid falling off and the coffee not staying hot blah blah blah. You can trust me when I say that this is a worthy investment. If you love coffee like I do, you will not have the coffee sitting in there for hours anyway (it stays hotter than most other french presses), and the rubber taste and lid thing...Bogus.

I've become addicted to pressed coffee and have tried several pots, none of which worked that well or quickly failed with regular use. This one is excellent. It pops in the dishwasher for easy cleaning and seems very durable. It keeps the coffee at a drinkable temp for more 2 hours. If you like pressed coffee, get this one.
